Mary & Martha

Luke 10:38,42.

Martha is somebody who wanted everything to be perfect, she had talents to entertain her guests, to care for them by giving good preparation in everything.

Mary, is somebody who is committed, devoted, had spiritual hunger. Unfortunately, Martha, was distracted with serving. When we lose our focus on Jesus, we start complaining and becoming upset because others aren’t helping us with our work.

Mark 4:18-19
Let us not be engrossed, dominated by riches, by the cares of this world. Don’t let it choke the good seed of the Word of God in us causing us to be unfruitful. Mary knew how important it was to take a break from her busyness and to set apart herself wholly for Christ, to listen to what Jesus was saying.

Good intentions are good but it'll all fail when we don't put God first, and we get distracted.
We need both Martha and Mary in our ministry.

We serve God through all kinds of talent God has given us, some can bake, some can decorate, some can prepare, but no matter what, our focus must still be on Jesus and we are to know when it’s time to sit and listen.
